Montouliers is a quiet medieval village in the midst of the huge unspoilt wine making area of the Languedoc.
It is 3km from the Canal du Midi and a mere half an hour from the Mediterranean coast. The village centre, with its narrow cobbled streets, calades and 12th century church, is only accessible on foot. There is a shop, which is open in the mornings for croissants, the basic essentials and coffee. Pizza and simple meals are available most evenings. There is a tennis court for hire in the village. Bicycles are available for hire nearby as are boats to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Canal du Midi. Narbonne, ”the crossroads of Europe” in Roman times is 20 minutes away and there are many fascinating historical, cultural and sporting activities all around us.
